By downloading, installing, or using BreakFree ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
BreakFree is a digital wellbeing and self-control tool for Android. It helps you voluntarily block websites and applications, set focus sessions and schedules, and commit to periods of reduced access. The app is a productivity and self-discipline aid — it is not a medical device, therapy, or a substitute for professional help.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use BreakFree. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement.
New users receive a limited-time free trial that provides the app's basic features. The trial is offered once per device; our anti-abuse system (described in the Privacy Policy) prevents repeated trials on the same device. When the trial ends, protection features are paused until you subscribe. Your settings and progress are preserved.
You agree not to misuse the app, including attempting to reverse-engineer it for the purpose of circumventing its anti-abuse or licensing systems, interfering with its operation, or using it to violate any law. BreakFree's blocking features are self-imposed tools; you are responsible for how you configure and use them.
If you add an accountability partner, you confirm you have that person's permission to send progress updates to the email address you provide. You are responsible for the accuracy of the contact details you enter.
BreakFree supports behavior change but does not provide medical, psychological, or professional advice. If you are struggling with compulsive behavior or addiction, please seek help from a qualified professional. Reliance on the app is at your own discretion.
We work to keep the app reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. Because a significant part of the app runs on your device and on Android system services (VPN and Accessibility), blocking effectiveness can depend on your device, OS version, and settings.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will block every distracting site or app in every circumstance.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BreakFree and its developers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim.
You may stop using the app and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or misuse the app's systems.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
